Our Mission and Goals

Green Oxford is a student-led environmental organization at Miami University. We welcome everyone on-campus and in the community who shares the vision of a greener future.

We are committed to improving the environment of the Miami and Oxford communities through education, action, and leadership. By arming our members with knowledge, it is possible to connect with the community and make a difference here at Miami. We envision a university with better environmental policies, an improved curriculum, and a well-informed student body.

Our goals are:

TO EDUCATED INTERNALLY: By providing opportunities for educational events, hosting guest lectures, and planing field trips, we hope for our members to learn something in every meeting.

TO EDUCATE EXTERNALLY: We hope to educate the Miami University and Oxford community by organizing community events, work with Miami University decision makers to implement change, and connect with other environmental groups to support common causes.

TO TAKE ACTION: We hope to make a realistic change in our community by signing petitions, organizing events, and participate in service work such as trail clean-ups .

GET OUT DOORS, BE GREEN, AND HAVE FUN: Throughout the year we host social events such as fall and spring camping trips, hiking and biking in Hueston Woods, and various socials throughout the year!

If you are interested in joining Green Oxford, please stop by a meeting and introduce yourself! We meet every Monday at 6pm in 200 Alumni Hall. Also, please email Erica Fox at foxea@muohio.edu to be added to our Listserv to stay updated via email!
